ARMOUR HP — Chemical Resistant Anti Corrosion Paint – High Performance
High-performance coating for fertilizer, chemical & paper industries
Formerly known as: CRAC HP — Chemical Resistant Anti Corrosion Paint - High Performance Paint (As Patented)
For ARMOUR HP applications, ARMOUR SB is required as the specified base system.
Our HP coating is designed for applications in the fertilizer, chemical & paper industries, delivering rapid performance with a 6 hrs dry time per coat in a 2-coat system. It offers superior resistance to UV, acids/alkali, and water, ensuring long-term durability in aggressive environments. With strong adhesion on metal and non-metal surfaces (except rubber) and 60 sq. ft./kg coverage, HP provides a reliable, high-performance protective solution for critical industrial areas.
- Single component — no mixing required
- 6-hour recoat interval for reliable throughput
- Superior UV, acid, alkali & water resistance

Why ARMOUR HP is Different from ARMOUR SB
Both are patented coatings from the ARMOUR range, but they are designed for different exposure conditions. ARMOUR SB is a single-component, self-priming coating for general chemical and industrial facilities, and is not recommended for direct contact with acid. ARMOUR HP is a high-performance top coat used with ARMOUR SB as a primer for areas requiring direct and sustained chemical exposure, including dip-side applications.
| Criteria | ARMOUR HP | ARMOUR SB |
|---|---|---|
| System | 2-coat system — ARMOUR SB primer + ARMOUR HP top coat | Single component, self-priming — no separate primer needed |
| Recoat / Cure Time | 6-hour interval between primer and top coat | Touch dry in 15 minutes, full cure in 1 hour |
| Application Zones | Suitable for dip-side and vapour-side exposure | General chemical and industrial facilities; not recommended for direct contact with acid |
| Best For | Areas with direct, sustained or immersive chemical exposure requiring enhanced protection | Fast-turnaround protection where direct, sustained acid contact is not expected |
| Typical Industries | Fertilizer, chemical & paper industries with aggressive exposure | General industrial coatings and structural protection |
Applications
Fertilizer, Chemical, Paper, Zinc melting, Phosphatic slurry unit, Zinc slurry unit, Molten sulfur handling unit, Acetic acid unit, Textile, Rayon Manufacturing

Application
ARMOUR HP can be applied by brush, roller, or airless spray. No thinning is required. Apply in ambient temperature between 10 °C and 40 °C with relative humidity below 85%. Do not apply on wet surfaces or when rain is expected within 4 hours.
Minimum 2 coats recommended for all industrial environments.
- 1
Surface Preparation
Clean the surface thoroughly — remove rust, oil, grease, dust, and loose particles. Abrade to Sa 2.5 (blast) or St 3 (hand tool). Ensure surface is dry and free from contamination.
- 2
Application Method
Apply by brush, roller, or airless spray. For best results on porous surfaces, apply a thin first coat and allow to flash off before applying the second coat.
- 3
First Coat
Apply ARMOUR SB uniformly at 40–60 microns DFT. Touch dry in 15 minutes at 25 °C. Allow minimum 6 hours before applying subsequent coats.
- 4
Second Coat
Apply second coat ARMOUR HP at the same DFT. Ensure full coverage with no pinholes or holidays.
